Introduction to the topics
1: "Shift Left Security", what the funk does that mean?
By: Gérard de Vos
In the agile, lean, devops communities people talk about improving security by "shifting left". Patterns and tools are emerging, or re-emerging, that make security less of a pain in the development process while also making applications more secure. In this talk, and discussion maybe, we explore what that means and how we can do that.
Gérard is a systems engineer (or devops engineer) and architect who helps businesses deliver value by applying DevOps and Lean principles, Continuous Delivery, and Cloud technologies. He knows that IT services can be delivered faster, with lower risk and lower costs by applying modern architectures, organizational structures and ways of working made popular through the DevOps movement.
2: Cloud visibility
By: Fons van Geelen
In short, JustCloudIT helps organisations to get Cloud Visibility over all their clouds used. This can be AWS, Azure, GCP and in the near future also AliBaba but also you on-prem private cloud with VMware.
We create a single pane of glass for all these clouds concerning Usage, Costs, Security, Governance, Optimization opportunities and of course savings.
I’m currently one of the few Certified Expert Partners of CloudHealth but I have worked with tools CloudCheckr, Cloudyn, CloudCruiser so I’m not limited to CloudHealth. Although I do think it is the best tool around at his moment.
In my talk I’ll go short into all these topics and hope to make people realize that visibility is where it all starts.
I’m Fons van Geelen and I started JustCloudIT in 2015 after being an IT director for 7 years at one of the largest Digital Organisations of the Netherlands; Mirabeau. (Currently acquired by Cognizant)
I have a huge love for IT and numbers and that’s how I started JustCloudIT.
